Last few years I have been feeding birds regularly and have a few deer stop by and turkeys  , then the rabbits , squirrels and a few deer walk through .
Seems one thing I didn't count on is last year is MICE - all of a sudden had them in the house in great numbers , so this spring I started putting out mouse blocks in containers with small holes drilled in them to prevent other critters from getting to bait .
Went through 24 pounds of bait blocks over the spring and summer , then this fall was down to 8 pounds in 3 months .
Has a 1/2 of 8 pound pail setting in shop and checked it a few weeks back - empty of bait but mouse droppings and 2 dead mice in bottom of bucket .
Just picked up another 8 pound pail and tomorrow will check all the feeder sets to see if still a problem as haven't checked them for a month
But have not put out any bird feed for a month either .

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

We have been feeding the birds for a few years I use mixed feed and add more sunfower seed to it, it's not oncomn for us to go through 2 gallon of feed a day and have had Turkeymcome in tohelp clean up left oer on the ground, in the summer we have baby squirrel that come and eat on the ground. I have it fixed so they can't get into the feeders.
