Ive got a 3000 7bottom automatic reset on land plow. The best thing is the wheel tread width is not important It does a fantastic job. As far as how it pulls compared to a in furrow plow i dont know. I dont have one to comapre it to. Im pulling it with a 8070 fwa so its not a problem to pull ------------- 1984 80780 1957 D14 DES 300 with 25000 engine 616 tractor |

One of the major manufacturers did lots of test back in the days of plowing and proved that in the furrow plows pulled easiest. However that required that the plow be in good working order and CORRECTLY adjusted. In today's world very few plows are either. ------------- If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

I had an IH 7 bottom pulled with a D21, on land then I could leave the duals on, always thought it worked good but really no comparison with in furrow. ------------- 1945 C, 1949 WF and WD, 1981 185, 1982 8030, unknown D14(nonrunner) |

Orrangereborn, I'm sure that you have a 9000 series plow on the trailer. I have a 3000 series 7 furrow semi mount 3pt on land hitch plow with auto resets. I have never plowed with it. 3000 series are all 16" with 3pt semi mount on land hitch. 2500 series are 18" trailer plows only. ------------- Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed |

| I read somewhere that an in furrow VS on land hitch, the in furrow was more effecient. Think it was in Norm's book. I used neighbors 6-18 IH 720? behind my 220. Was fun! On land hitch which was great with 24.5 32's. |

2500 series 8 18 was largest plow made. A experimental 2050 series had new features and a 13 bottom was prototyped and never went into production. I would love to find that plow for my big implement collection. Ive got a 8x18 2500 auto reset that ive got to get home. ------------- 8070FWA,7080 BlackBelly, 7045,2 200s,D19,D17,G, WD,45,UC,7 AC mowers and lots more! | I got to try a 7 bottom in furrow at a plow day in Oct. 7045 - 18.4-38 radials. Around 16k weight wise on bean stubble. Don’t know if I would have tried it on cornstalks. Think you would start to run out of grip. I might be wrong (happens a lot). First time I’ve ever pull one that big. |

| So in my area down hill only with the D21/220 and take it back to the top with the 7080 with duals? Have one 25 acre field where they took the top 10 feet for an overpass. Might handle it there.. Kinda lite soil but sure shines up a plow...Dale |

| CWhit. Set your Traction Booster linkage to the long hole down low on the right side of the torsion bar. Test Traction Booster adjustment as per the owners manual. Hang a dual on the land wheel side. At least 1000 lbs on the nose. You weigh 16K so you must have fluid. Probably 18 psi in the rear radial tires. You'll be all right. |

| I''m pulling 6 X 16 Allis 9000 series on land with D-21, 24.5 X 32 rubber. In tough, waxy ground the traction booster isn't responsive enuf to keep plow from nosing in and letting me count the stars. It doesn't have a front gauge wheel which I suspect would be a great help. Tractor is weighing about 15,500 when plowing. |

| 9000 series plows are HEAVY. More front end weight makes Traction Booster work much better. How can it work correctly when the front wheels raise off the ground?? It can't. |
