Twin 285-hp Continental IO-520M engines

The "R" has a longer nose than it's predescessors.

The elongated capsules on the wing tips are fuel tanks.

Even with a ten year gap in production, the Cessna 172 Skyhawk is by far the most popular aircraft ever; more have been built/sold than any other aircraft ever made.

Curiously, even with their extreme popularity and prevalence, I have yet to fly a Cessna Skyhawk.
