Funny how events like that change your whole perspective on life - every day after is a bonus, a day you might not have had. I have been almost 17 years since I had a team of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals save my life the first time (ruptured aneurysm), next week is 6 years since the second time (internal bleeding in chest cavity, unknown source). I am happy to be alive and thankful for every day. I also opt for the additional LifeFlight insurance every year. I hope you continue to have good days.

I'm thankful you made it through that too. Regardless of age or where you are in life you never truly know what the next day or even minute will bring.

Glad you ALL made it, place would be boring as all get out without. Not hit the Stroke or Aneurysm issues, YET, My Uncle(Dad's younger brother) had a Aneurysm at 84, was repaired and made it to 92 when the Aorta decided was just tired, started bleeding thruwall, Docs could not help as to his age, would kill him with surgery or allow nature to take him back on HIS Schedule. He passed a Year Later at 93 several years ago now.
A little light pain center mass of chest, AT TIMES was the only clue first time. Second time had low blood counts, low blood pressure, and a Chest Ache not real pain.

No real indication it was coming. Just woke up, told wife I thought it was a stroke. Actually walked into hospital. 2 weeks therapy at Anderson Hospital in Merryville. Several months of therapy for return to walking and another 7 or 8 months to get movement and some use in my left arm/hand at our local therapy unit. Still feel blessed as my dad spent his last 5 years in a wheelchair with his stroke.

Have had a number of family affected of strokes, all of which did not survive more than a month after. Some are recoverable, many are not.

My mom had a clot stroke and lived, geez…17-18 years after? Passed from cancer in 2024. Dad had a weird experience with what they finally determined was a bleeder stroke about 13 years ago and he’s still here thankfully.

had a stroke when I was 75 years old. lost the ability to talk a wise woman gave me the stroke test. Smile, Talk, raise your arms. next stop was the emergency roomm the gave me the clot buster drug. spent my 75th birthday in the intensive care unit. made a full recovery. When I left the hospital the Doctor said, the reason you had the stroke was because you have A-Fib. I am 82 years old now and still enjoying life and my AC tractors.
