I am getting ready to make a seat for my '28 Chevy truck. I would like to do it in leather, but I have no idea what leather. Looking on the 'net, I find veggie tanned, chrome tanned, and in various 'grades', plus various thicknesses. Does anyone know what leather seats were done in '28, or, probably even today? ------------- I am still confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I don’t know how readily you’d be able to get it where you are, but a good many car and coach manufacturers use vehicle upholstery leather from Bridge of Weir Group in Scotland. Looking at their website that includes Ford and Lincoln, so it must be imported into the US - https://bridgeofweirleather.com/ourcustomers" rel="nofollow - https://bridgeofweirleather.com/ourcustomers From what I know about upholstery, vehicle seats usually use a slightly thicker 1.2mm leather and it usually has a grain pattern rather than being totally smooth/ shiny. |
