I am trying to replace left lift arm shaft seal. Got seals from agco. I can not get the OD of the seal to all go into the housing. I’ve tore 2 seals trying. And they are $50 a seal. I have knocked the shaft out so it exposed the smooth area past the splines. Has anyone had this issue? It’s not a o ring it’s a cup type seal. It seems it’s just to big. But in my part book on Allis it’s the right part number agco adds a 70 in front of the number if they changed it. But any install info much appreciated. I’ve tried slowly working in with Blunt brass bar , pushing edge in as I go. Can get 60-70% in them it pops the other side out. I’ve tried to upload the picture but said it’s too large . Not sure how to change format of a picture . Any info appreciated!! Thanks

I don't remember a 185 having a seal like that. They were always a thick O-ring that fit in a groove. Have you dug out the old seal?? What style was it ??
