Just got a starter off E-bay for the Perkins - I was having problem with engagement in flex plate and found the starter drive gear was worn down and not fully engaging .
I also replaced 2 nose cones on starter over the years that cracked .
So Chinese Starter and $130 for new one - might have got by with just replacing the drive on old unit a little cheaper but was getting tired of swapping parts in my old Delco units .

New Chinese starter in and it works good so far , old unit did not throw into starter ring and on looking at old starter drive it was worn from not totally engaging the flex plate teeth .
Only problem was the supplier said 3 day delivery and it ended up 15 days - so much for some suppliers on E-bay
