This grader is for sale on a local auction and I am out of town so can’t go check it out. Does anyone have any info on model or dimensions. Just worried about buying it and getting home and it’s huge? Thanks.

That appears to be either a model 42 or 54. The 42 has a 208" wheelbase and something around 12,000 pounds. The 54 has a 222' wheelbase and weighs about 14,500 pounds. The scarifier will add over 1,000 pounds to either of them.

I have seen one like that with mechanical controls along side of a road a few years ago but I haven't been that way for a few years so it may be of to a salvage yard or a equipment museum.  When I was a child, decades ago and walking home from a small country school, which was 2 1/4 miles  from home, the grader operator picked me up to give me a ride. It had the same mechanical controls. No hydraulics then.

It should fit on a standard width trailer. Lots of cast iron so could be over 8 tons. Maybe on one of the bigger duel wheel goosenecks?

I operated an old AC grader that looked similar. It did have 4 rear wheels. Powered by the same engine as the M crawler, because the radiator top tank had M cast in it. I think it is still on that ranch. Could be close to 30 years since I have seen it.

Oh the good old days no brakes and no fears........................until it died going up hill. Push the levers for down on the blade .............and it COME UP more. Powered off the front of the crankshaft.................engine turning backward. About then I was at the bottom, all in one piece.
