I have a '54 wd45, gas, with the wide front end. Has anyone had any experience installing a loader? I'm thinking a trip bucket made for the allis Chalmers but they seem hard to find in my area (Michigan). I would be mainly using for moving scrap metal and occasionally scooping mounded dirt. I'm trying to avoid purchasing another tractor just for the loader so any suggestions or advice on what would work on this tractor would be appreciated. Thank you!

Allis Loaders were made by Freeman Peru, IN. I had a WD45 with a WD9 loader on it that was trip bucket.  Worked great for what I used it for.  Freeman had several loaders that fit WD45.  New Idea made a trip bucket 503 for WD, and WD45.  I bought one of those used and made new rear mounts for a D14.  New Idea had several loaders that fit WD45.
I may have a subframe lying around for a WD45 for a WD9 loader.
Hope this helps
Bob

Depending on where you are at in Michigan: Kelly loaders were common in southern part of the state. I have two on WD/WD45, they work pretty well.
