Have a 715 B AC backhoe.  The backhoe has been sitting for 2 years.  Goes in reverse but hesitates to move forward.  If put in reverse and hold brakes for a few seconds , then go to forward, it will move forward but only 20-30 feet and then stop again.  Can keep doing this process to move forward but will not keep going in forward.  Any Ideas?

Check the ATF level in the transmission. Have it running in nuetral, shut it off and check the level on the dipstick ASAP. Don't check it running or after sitting for a while.
I've had a 715B for 23 years and a 715 and I-60 before that. Had a similar problem this week and adding some ( less than a quart) ATF solved the problem.

Mine is like that now , sounds like clutch pack is going or gone. Manual gives pressure settings for clutch , mightbe looking at just a clearance problem and can re-adjust clearances or have to rebuild. Believe it call on checking while running.

You were right  Calvin.  The ATF was what it needed.  Put a quart in and shuttle works as it should.  Thanks for the very quick response.
