A LOT of HOT, HOT water( like 2 sink fulls) and then MORE 'should' soften it up....

Doug, if you can access the pipe and there is no vent before clog, a jetter works well. They fit inside your line, attaches to garden hose, a rubber bladder expands to fit the pipe when water is turned on. It will unclog many drains. Has the pressure of garden hose plus some. Make sure you have it in the pipe and secured. HTH Tracy plus some

Any cleaner like Drano has to reach the clog to be effective. A lot of times there is too much water backed up in the line before the clog. Some professionals have a self feeding jetter that will push through and clear the line. Being old and lazy I usually call the drain experts these days.

Try something longer for a snake , say a electricians snake to break through , once you get beyond then boiling hot water . Other thing is to figure out about how far your present snake reaches and cut the pipe and glue in a T or Y so next time you can clean the line or use that expanding water plug to jet line . I have a 2" cast line about 30' long and it use to plug often , last time I used my pressure washer and a reverse flow jetting nozzle and ran through line as I put a cleanout just above where line enters floor . If you don't have time to glue in new fittings , cut line and use a Fernco coupling to rejoin ends of pipe after cleaning the line (rubber coupling with or without SS outer wrap .)
As far as drain cleaning chemical most do not work on clogs , but if you get line open and figure where clog was you could block pipe inside and clear with chemical areas of pipe that now do not have water in them by plugging pipe off . BUT mechanical cleaning is best or jetting out with pressure washer

When I worked for Roto Rooter they had a liquid concentrate that you only needed a quarter cup mixed with warm water. Once a month and worked really well on kitchen sink drains. They sell a roto Rooter brand at Menards but it is not concentrated. 2 types of drain cleaner, caustic acids or bacteria/enzymes . Caustic acids ,based on sulfuric acid that will dissolve hair clogs on contact, will also heat up when contacts water. Bacteria and enzymes eat grease and gunk , more of a preventive maintenance than a drain opener. My Spartan drain cleaning machine with a 1,1/2 cutter blade works best

The first one I can attest to as I have used it many times. Success rate? I'd say about 19 out of 20. IF it's grease, I'd say try the last one, it sounds promising.
Pour 1/2 cup baking soda, followed by 1/2 cup vinegar down drain. Plug drain and let sit for one hour. Then, pour a pot of boiling water down drain. Repeat if necessary This will clean out a lot of clogs so try it first before running to the store to buy a commercial drain opener.
or
Mix 1/2 cup table salt and 1/2 cup baking soda together, and pour down drain. Let sit for about 30 minutes (or overnight if it’s a tough clog). Follow with a pot of boiling water.
or
Salt + Borax + Vinegar Drain Cleaner Pour 1/4 cup salt, followed 1/4 cup Borax down drain. Pour 1/2 cup vinegar down. Finish with a pot of boiling water. Let sit for one hour or until it clears. Run hot tap water to rinse any remaining solution down.
or
Dish Soap and Hot Water Boil about two liters of water and mix in a few tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Take this mixture and slowly pour down the sink. This method may take a few tries, but it will work great on grease clogs because it is heating the grease back to a liquid so it can travel all the way out of the pipe.

I have a hose that is smaller diameter than most 1/4" air hoses and flexible enough to run down pipes which hooks onto pressure washer - the reverse jet nozzle cleans pipes well and I use to use a similar system for cleaning PYREX glass pipe that was used for acid drain lines . With PVC drain lines you have to be careful with hot solutions in the horizontal runs of pipe as they may sag from heat . This can also be a problem with using lye or other chemicals that create heat when mixed with water .

Try one of the balloon attachments for garden hose - just get it down past vent line opening for it to work . As your pipe is PVC - cut in a cleanout in the drain line to make it easy the next time
