it's in a 2002 Suburban, gas guage does not work, so we trip the odometer and put gas in every 200 miles. Mechanic says we will have to change the instrument panel which includes the odometer to get the gages to work, oil pressure gage has showed bad ever since we owned it, 6 or 7 years and 50K miles ago, he said pressure is fine, just gage. I don't want to have to mess with sending off for .... o think we will keep doing what we are doing until it all quits. recalibrating odometer to get everything to work |

wow I googled...2002 suburban instrument cluster, got 2 MILLION hits.... options... 1) I'd get another cluster from a you-pick-it-place..... 2) I'd also remove cluster and resolder the main connectors.... 3) you can buy refurbed units for $200-250 4) keep full gas can in trunk... as for mileage... fill tank to first 'click' at a pump, drive say 200 miles, refill at SAME pumo, 1st click. well, if you drive 200 miles and then put in 20 gallons of gas... You can figure your getting 10 MPG... If you got a 30 gallon tank, you could probably get another 50 miles to the station.. I would not push it to the limit and try to run 29 gallons out of a 30 gallon tank !!  ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

Those instrument clusters are fragile but repair easily. Minute stress cracks in the solder runs can be found easily with a lighted magnifying glass.

Flat level ground 70 mph, 14mpg. | I don’t keep track but my little thing that show’s average mileage says 9.9. None of my dash works anymore. I’m hoping to get it fixed. Iv been told about half dozen different fixes though. One guy said there’s some kinda kit you can get that replaces resisters or something, he said it’s simple. Was going to try that first. But the little info thing works so I use the range for knowing when I need gas |

I concur, 10 to 12 mpg is all I could get too. It is a strong engine though for sure. My ‘95 Suburban w/TBI has averaged 12-13 mpg over it’s lifetime(211,000 mi). IIRC, 1995 was the last year for the TBI, then after EFI. 40 gallon fuel tank, if I’m not mistaken. 350 cu inch. ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science. |

I had two 6.0 engines in 3/4 ton Chevy pickup trucks. 12mpg was on a good day and empty. No problems over my tenure with them and very reliable.

This is true and proven over many vehicles as the modern fuel tank is also the cooling medium for the pumping unit. Pumps have a longer service life when they are kept cooler than warm as is the scenario referenced. ------------- That's All Folks! |

No sir that is actual mileage. Had two water pumps and intake gaskets once. Transmission rebuilt at around 330000. She rattles on cool mornings but still runs strong. |

| I also have an '02 burb, so far everything on the dash works, the 4x4 quit but still drives fine, I use it for a farm truck mostly, do take long drives sometimes. has over 150,000 miles on it now. they're not really worth anything for a trade in or to sell it, i'll keep it and drive it til one of us dies off! long drives we take the old lady's.....ooooops.....I mean the loving wifes Burb, it's a 2015. I don't really care on the mileage, it's better than walking! it heats good in winter and the a/c blows cold in summer, what more could a guy ask for? |

Is it push button 4x4? If so the switches are prone to fail. Can be had cheap online. |

| yeah Thad, it is push button, and it has been replaced, but that wasn't the problem, so I had a new (whatcha ma call it) installed in the transfer case, but something is wrong or broke inside the case and that new part won't fix it either. it still drives fine...just no 4x4. I can do without that as I own 7 other 4x4's I can use. i'll just drive this one til it dies or rusts away! lots of good parts on it yet in case I buy another like it. |
