2016 silverado braking pull to the right

2016 2500 HD Silverado gas 6.0 2wd.
Overnight it developed a brake malfunction.
It would severely pull to the right.
Like the left side wasn't working.

I fixed it with my big foot.
At a stop I pressed down hard on brake pedal.
After that the braking action was back to normal.
I presume something was stuck.

Should I just keep on trucking?

Use an infrared thermometer and check rotor temps after driving and braking to see if you have a caliper hanging up.

I just took it out for hard braking test and measured rotor temps.
Infrared thermometer read 245/252 in fronts, 191/198 in rears.
 
Only during use of the brakes did it pull to the right.
Just driving, the truck tracked straight.
The pull was severe, enough to possibly cause a crash if the roads were slippery.
I figured something was stuck in the anti-skid system, proportioning valve
or whatever they use these days. So I pressed HARD on the pedal, and 
whatever was stuck was no longer stuck, and brakes work normally now.
However, I consider that a half-baked "fix" and worry about it.
I don't use the truck often, let is sit for a week sometimes.

At minimum I will flush the brake fluid.

I would pull the caliper off and look at the slides for the pads.. After setting with no use for a period of time, then can rust up / stick ......... Maybe just a disassembly , clean , antisieze and reassemble....

Always replace calipers as pairs (L and R).  And don't forget the caliper hoses, a flaky one can cause the same symptoms...Wink

Had a 74 Chevy truck pulling to one side like that. Dad said change the flex hose on the other side and he was exactly right. Good luck

Agree with Dave. Sometimes weird acting brakes are caused by the hoses. Rust can pinch them off.

I will check out the brakes after I am done putting everything away for the season.
For now it is working. Of course I jump to worrying that an expensive fancy ABS valve or pump is the problem. I think because of lack of use, the left side froze up. So when I pressed really hard it freed up, and luckily apparently rebounded ok, not clamped tight.
Brake hose are about $45.

Did my car in April, was not impressed with the tight fit of the new pads in the bracket. 
Filed them down a bit. Even the original pads were hanging up. One rotor was gouged.
 

Would be nice if there was a maintenance spray you could use liberally and wantonly on the calipers, slides, pins, pads, rotors.  Want no friction (or corrosion) on the moving parts, normal friction on the pads to rotors. Dream on. I am dealing with a tractor with oil soaked discs /pads right now, seal went bad. Almost zero braking action.

Not a spray, but i use a lube that gets brushed on to moving parts. Even with all the dust and dirt around, has helped.
