Decided was time to make certain we had plenty of water to supply renter's stock. Have no ponds, the FSA wanted to situate one where was useless for a watering system where have two springs out of the creek bank but just a premonition needed to supplement. 300' deep well drilled, Mud Casing 9', hit the white sand at 120-130', and I stopped by to see progress, water was within 7' of casing top then. Gal from the company attached a drain so could finish up well set. So I set a Concrete tank pad, and devised a structure Inside the barn that will house the Tank and Controls. The well company finished today. COBETT Stock Waterer, Ground Source deicing system. Nice set up with a Casing Drain to the creek behind barn so a Second pool of good Clean water for the stock there on opposite side of fence. Day of drill completion  The last couple days     Still have to set Styrofoam insulation, tins on outer walls and assemble some form of door as well insulate but system is Live and water is SWEET!!!

| Do Cobett waterers freeze in your country? They are supposed not to....but ours freezes even in Kansas. I think they are very over rated. |

| They can and do develop a Ice Line at top, some times close to 1/2" thick, the other waterers here do the same. Just have to check and break the crust of a morning, by the time a herd drinks Ice is pretty well gone. |

i had to go to You Tube and PASTE this in... bBE3z_FgBL0 Suprise you drill 300 ft down and water comes up to surface.. Dont see that too often around here ! ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

| Have been some 14 artesian wells here in last couple years according to driller. Is a defined huge aquifer runs thru here, pretty shallow as to water depth. Several springs still run that have run for seemingly ever. Spring houses were really prominent on the old farms but most have dried up. This one makes 4gpm best can figure 24/7. Pump hanging at 120’, does not have to strain. |

| Have a good milkhouse heater not being used. Going to vet a Thermostatic Switch and set it up in the box during winter. Cannot get non LED bulbs to any value around here anymore. |

your are SUPPOSE to be able to buy flood lights and appliance lights that are incandescent...Thank you GOVT interfierence..... If you go on line you will see new incand bulbs listed as "appliance bulbs" to get around the rule.. I just bought 8 for spares for my welding rod oven. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

I use a brooder lamp bulb to keep my well house warm. I hope they don't go LED on those as it would be useless!! |

Some end photos, and the Compressor got its Own slab poured where found it would not start just loudly hummed. Danged Mud Dobbers!! Placed a layer of 2" base stone around waterer, then added a cover layer of Screenings. Tank house is insulated with 3/4" styrofoam based sheet stock between the 2x's and heater with a plug in thermostat set to 45 degrees is situated. Did clean the motor starter contact points with a piece of notebook paper as were corrupted a little, next time will end up replacing that. The COBETT float ball is six inches diameter for relative size.   |

The problem with brooder bulbs is they suck electric. We put a 25 watt bulb next to the pump and throw a piece of rolled rubber roofing over the whole thing. So simple it's stupid. ------------- Learning AC...slowly |

| This sets inside our barn, cannot remember EVER having a partial barrel of water freeze inside the barn. Still built the tank house to keep some varmints off this and perhaps the water in the tank will be insulated enough to keep from freezing. Milkhouse heater set at 1300w setting, thermostat set for 45degrees so might not ever kick on, but is there for safe keeping. |
