Are there any round balers out there I could run on an AC 6060 with MFWD.? Not looking to set a land speed record just for meadows and other smaller fields I hire someone to do large baling jobs
Most are saying it needs more HP Not a light tractor in my opinion

I pull New Holland 847 and 851 balers with my Oliver 1550 sometimes,its 55 PTO HP.on steep land I like to use the Oliver 1650 or AC 185.The 1550 easily pulls the 847 anywhere. |

| I did try my D 17 IV on my Hesston 5540 this summer. When the bale became large and tight in uneven road ditches I wished I had my 4020 attached to it. The 5540 is considered 4 x 5 baler; I should behave and limit it to 4 x 4 when in road ditches. Stability is no problem; ballasted, pie weighted rear tires and suitcase wights mounted on front. When bale became near 5 ft the 17 could utilize a few more horses. |

Heston 530 is a low HP round baler. Odd bale size though if I remember correctly. If it's for your personal use it should be fine. Back when I was a tike I remember the neighbor doing an impressive job with an old Deere baler and a 160. He later graduated to a slightly newer Deere behind a 6070. We run a New Holland behind a 8030. Dry hay and level ground I think my 6080 would handle it making baleage and pushing it the 8030 barks. If the tractor doesn't have rear weights or fluid, I'd suggest you get some rear ballast if it's hilly ground. The older balers require 1 set hydraulic couplers to open/close chamber and maybe 1 set couplers / have a manual twine tie / or a 12 volt power supply to wrap twine around bale. We baled for our 60+ cows using AC 180 / 185 on VerMeer 605C & F series balers in our hilly ground. ------------- AC 200, CAH, AC185D bareback, AC 180D bareback, D17 III, WF. D17 Blackbar grill, NF. Was hoping to do 4 x 5 but 4 x 4 may have to work until I have a bigger tractor I also have a Kubota FWA 7040 but the 6060 is heavier

I have a claas rollant 62 that makes around a 4x5 soft core bale. My series II D17 with the combine engine runs it fine . My Series IV works a bit harder but gets the job done. I expect my new 7020 should play with it.

I second the Vermeer 605F round baler with it's two sets of hydraulics(one for rear door, one for twine tie). It's bale chamber is 6'tall x5'wide, but I always stop bale at 5' tall or whatever height you desire. Baler is nothing fancy. It has a bale height pointer gauge Your AC 6060 mfwd should handle it with ease, given no extremes. The AC 6060's turboed 433 is a gutsy 4 cylinder. |

Harder denser net wrapped bale sheds a lot more water when stored outside. Take a heck of a shed to store 1400 bales a year. Been feeding two year old hay with minimal spoilage and we are in a damp climate.
