I lost my old MS Paint app in Windows 7 that I used to resize photos for posting to this forum, so I finally figured out how to resize using the new MS Paint app.  I use my laptop to do this.

1. Right click on the photo, then select "open with Paint"

2. In Paint, click the Image toolbar with the image resize icon.

3. Select "Pixels" rather than "Percentage"

4. x out the default pixel numbers, and type in about 500 for horizontal and about 350 for vertical.

5. Select "Save As" under "File" and rename the file a little, so you know which photo has been resized.

6. To post that resized photo in our forum, select "Insert Image" (green tree) and download that new resized photo.

HTH - it took me awhile to figure it out.

best size for forums is 640x480, thats the size I have always used and it fits all screens and is big enough to see the subject. I still use paint in w-10 most of the time but also found Imguar has a neat resizer too, and works faster than paint!
When you resize a pic. make a special folder for resized ONLY then you can go straight to them without scrounging thru 10 million pix on your unit.
