How does the steering linkage come apart to replace the mid u joint? This is a D15 diesel series 1.

If I remember right, the lower shaft slides forward in the splined coupling at the gearbox. you then grind of the peened over pins and drive them out to get the yokes off. 

I did this on my dads D17 years ago, and when I did it I bought the 2 yokes and ujoint together from Brenda at Sandy Lake cheaper than AGCO wanted for just the ujoint

Hammer out both Ujoint yoke pins.  This takes 3 or 4 lb hammer, a proper sized punch and grind off the pins end flush with the yoke. With the engine off, turn the steering wheel hard both ways and break one shaft loose inside of its yoke. Re-install that pin and continue turning the wheel until the other yoke breaks free. Lots of penetrating oil and maybe things will slide apart.
