hello all , i have remove my coil on my WD45 for painting purpose , and i didn't  take care of polarity on my coil ? , i know i have 12 volt negative ground system  , but i have found on the internet this picture ...i am ok if my igniton switch to the  positive side of the coil ?

Yes like the red on the pic. Switch to + side of the coil and - to the distributor on a negative ground system.

'Red' is right, for you...

'Blue' is bad, well it actually will work, but not as good a spark......

You will not damage anything if you miswire the coil.

if you connect it up backwards ( the BLUE photo).. you will have current flowing BACKWARD thru the point and condenser in addition to the coil... not an ideal situation.

Distributer is the ground just like battery. If battery is pos. ground, coil is pos. grounded to distributer.               MACK

Christian,
Don't forget, you have a Pertronix electronic ignition I fixed you up in that new Distributor  so, from the E.I. in the Distributor, the RED wire goes to the plus (+) side of the coil, and the BLACK wire from the E.I. goes to the Negative (-) side of the Coil. The circuit from the Ignition switch goes to the plus (+) side of the coil with the RED wire from the E.I.  I don't want to see you burn out your new E.I. The fellers here don't know you have an E.I.

yes i know Steve thanks to taking care of me  , i just receive my new carburator , and i wish to start my tractor and adjust the carb and after all the fuel side adjustement work well , i will change my distributor E.I.
