I’m gonna have to get it rebuilt. It just turns too slow. I put on cheap jumper cables from a 12 bolt and it still wasn’t fast enough.
I undid the ignition wire and jumper Ed it to the 6 volt battery and then put a 12 volt battery to the starter and it starts but still doesn’t crank very fast.
I pulled the starter and blew it out. It liooks nice and clean. I wire brushed where it bolts to the tractor and wire brushes the bell housing where it bolts up. I removed the battery box and cleaned and wire brushed the mounts and where it bolts up.
Brand new battery and brand new cables.

Send it over to Steve at B&B.  He'll fix it up so it spins that 'G' right over!!

Steve I was hoping you’d see this. I have it up for sale and a couple guys very interested. I’ll have to explain the situation to them.
Can you PM me a price and a guess on the shipping to North West Arkansas?
I was concerned that parts may be hard to come by these days?

Check the ring gear to make sure it isn't worn.  With new gears on a rebuilt starter, a worn ring gear will wear down those starter gears pretty quick!

You stated you put on new Cables. Reminder..... Those cables need to be as thick as Goucho's Cigar.

they’re very heavy and no longer than necessary.
I also used different cables to run a 12 volt battery to it. It still turned slow.

The teeth appeared good when I had the starter out. I even felt the back side to feel for any bad spots I couldn’t see.
