Daughters car battery died right before Xmas.  Got the "Hey Dad, got me a problem call".  Went bought a new battery, installed outside on one of the coldest days in December.....of course my 14 mm socket popped off right as I was finishing.  It's lost for now down inside that block of metal they refer to as an engine.
Unless ole Thad or Desert Joe come pull that engine out, it aint ever gonna be found!

Not to worry, my little girl was smart enough to look in my case, ID the size and sure enough it showed up as one of my XMAS presents!  She said, "I might need it later someday....like when her battery dies again!"

At least you lost it after the job was done, and not just when you needed it.

I was working on a 97 Dodge Stratus with a 6 bangger, really tight with that engine in there, dropped a 10 MM socket - it never hit the concrete- good enough- bought 3 more to take its place
