I have a FP 50-24 Fork Lift Type G and need details to get it running correctly.

The serial number is 29580000

Looking for details on...
  • Plugs & Gap
  • Points
  • Condenser
  • Cap & Rotor
  • Timing setting
Also, what model year is this?

Looking for what model details to give the parts house to get the parts above.
I will also be looking for a replacement carb. Pretty sure those are not going to be easy to find.

Any help is appreciated.

Information on these forklifts is generally slim pickin's... that said, if you can find the tag on the distributor you should have enough to get the tune-up parts that belong inside of it. The point gap will work fine at .020". If you get the numbers off the old spark plugs they can probably be matched up to something current. As for the carb, a careful disassembly, cleaning and reassembly may be all you need. Old carbs can be quite forgiving if you kiss them in the right places :)

Thank you so much Eric.
This is good information.
It reinforces my thoughts.
I will look for the distributor tag -- Thank you!
I have the carb tag and will try to get a kit to rebuild it before spending money on a carb.

I have the FPD50-24 version..... diesel engine is a BUDA 4BD-153

If yours is gas, it'll be  BUDA 4B153, same engine as in Cockshutt30 tractors !!!
Well 'should' be, unless it was swapped out.....

A couple of pictures will confirm/deny what I say....
After years of owning it , I found out I had a 2 speed tranny....

fun ?
that's when you have to do the brakes !!!!

hint: tilt mast back, toss 6by6 under it, then tilt forward all the way....
fronts will 'magically' come off the ground.....

Check the 'ujoints' on the drive shaft ! Mine's missing most of the needel bearings...
ONLY access is from below..... 'fun'..
grab lots of 2by10s and make a 3 section 'platform' about a foot high..
real handy when you change the engine oil......
