I'm planning to add front mount pump for live hydraulic to my B. Can someone tell me what size gear pump to order ? I'm looking getting one from surplus center. Looking at GP series pumps. What do you want to do with the pump? Thats going to determine what size you'd need. I'd say 10 gpm and 2,000 psi would catch it. AaronSEIA |

1.5 -2. Bore. Lift grader blade and belly mower. Currently use stock pump aftermarket cylinder. 3 point conversion. Works ok just not live and when grading driveway it's terribly aggravating and borderline dangerous. Have to stop in highway get blade up , tractor back in gear. Etc. rear pump is measured in QUARTS per minute.. Very small... Think of a 5 gallon bucket. If you pump that much in a minute, that would be PLENTY !.
for SIZE... lets say you want 2 gallons per minute... there are 230 cubic inches in a gallon , so you want about 500 cubic inches pumped per minute.... Your motor is running at 1500 rpm, so you need about .33 cubic inches displacement per revolution of the pump... Look for pump sizes in the .31 to .36 displacement ( approx). just make sure you get the right rotation... click on the pump and look at the rotation, speed and pressure rating... most of those pumps can put out 5 gpm at 3600 rpm... your running less than half that speed....... too big of pump and your "raise" speed will be too fast.

An electric /hydraulic snowplow pump would be more than adequate for this task and much easier to hook up. |
