I removed the old front end loader from my D-15 today. It was originally for the WD45 but Gramps made it work on the D-15, which I just learned is a 1964 model, serial number 18466.

So I guess I’ll take the loader to the scrap yard, as there is very little interest in these old relics. I’ll hold onto the hydraulic rams for a year or so to see if anyone can use them. The cylinders are about 38” long and the rams 2” in diameter.

I had to replace the fuel gauge. I was hoping it was the float, but it wasn’t. The needle doesn’t move with the actuator. I guess they didn’t make them to repair, so I had to buy a new one. That’s my update for today.

I wouldn’t say there’s no interest. Just spent 300 on one. But it was a nice one.

Even a trip bucket loader can be very useful. I have two of them and 90% of the time get by. I do admit though, would be nice to have a loader with a hydraulic bucket, but considering the difference in cost, I guess I'll continue to "get by"!

I have both types. Trip type on the WD and a 500 series on the D17 and they each have their uses. I had an extra trip type here and it soon sold to go on a WD45.

i have an old trip bucket loader on my 55 wd45. works good but think i need a hydraulic pump rebuild and some replumbing. arms won't hold unit in one place. hopin for a rebuild next year.

Yeah, I didn’t say there was NO interest. I said ‘limited’ interest. I had it listed on here and nobody wanted it. I asked a local Allis Chalmers parts guy and he said he just doesn’t get calls for for them anymore. Several guys on here told me the same thing. Just not very useful. If somebody wants it, I’m happy to make a GREAT deal here in Ohio. You’d better speak up though. The scrap man could come any day!

if you see a trip bucket at auction around here.. they get scrap price.

i live on the worst winter road in clay couty iowa. have had 4-5' drifts in my driveway. my 55 wd45 and the trip loader has never failed me. newer may be better and easier but have so much fun running a unit born 6 month before i was. they don't make em like when they buillt my girl, 40hp wokhorse.

Unfortunately around here there impossible to find I've welded my very abused before I bought it one back together. I'd love to find another one but Ohio is a long ways from North Dakota.mine gets used fairly often if I wasn't so cheep I'd buy a skid steer for lifting and moving projects around the shop and tractor shed. The payloader and backhoe are just to large for inside work.WD45 with wo loader and power steering is fairly handy
