Trying to button up my allis CA rebuild. It originally had pal nuts on the rod bolts. Should I get some new ones, add a drop of loctite or just torque them and call it good. They are not castle nuts so I can not put in cotter pins

the service manual says nothing about replacement or locktite... says to "install and torque"    ..... normally you can feel a little "resistance" in the threads as you install... they should not SPIN on like a standard nut.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

dont use grade 5 nuts i tryed to use them on head studs on a continental once and they could not even make it up to the torque before they started to strip at least go to fastenal or one of those places and buy hardend nuts
