Saw Joe once this season. Those commercials are bordering on being scams IMHO. Get the unwary on the phone and sell them something they don't need by using half truths and pressure tactics.

There must be BIG MONEY in doing some of these Medicare PLans thru Private Insurance... You are paying $180 a month to the GOVT for Medicare, and have payed premiums for the past 40 years when you were working.... I think the PRIVATE companies get alot of that money FROM THE GOVT , to  take care of the paper work  and everything.......... Not saying thats bad... just a LOT OF GOVT MONEY to be spent if you get into the " health care business".

Seems the full medical field is getting worse in many ways - Let alone the stupid adds running ot sell you supplemental policies -
Called into doctor a while back to get in to see someone for sinus problem - 2 week wait as said I probably had just a cold and see if it cleared up in 10 days , nope so called back in - would be a week to see primary , 2 weeks for ENT specialist ,
Waited to see if - no better with time so called back - said no appointments for 2 weeks so use the Urgent Care - $45 cost but decided to try - 3 hour wait at clinic - tried 3 other places - no openings or longer wait .
Seems you need to scedule any problems a month in advance of when they happen and be spacific of what problem you have - and can only be treated for 1 thing - any more you need to make a new appointment for .

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

Where's Joe Namath?  Probably at an AA meeting.

I truly TRULY feel horrible for the hoops our elderly have to jump through and $$$ they have to shell out.  If they are dealing with numerous chronic conditions, the standard govt. fare ain't going to cut it.  No easy, no inexpensive way out.  It really sucks.

I still see his ads on TV, once in a while.  JJ Walker too.
My mailbox has Medicare advertisements, everyday.
Some of these advertisements are written so one believes they are from the government or the insurance company.  Have to be careful.  It would be very easy to get tricked into signing up for the wrong thing.

Pretty sure these  are just to get you to call and they sell you supulantal (SP) insurance.
I made the mistake of calling only to find out that was all it was.  I would say that I have got 40 or more calls over the last year trying to get my money.  I kind of enjoy it as I am retired and like to play games with them.  My main aim is to get them to hang up on me.  I usually am successful.  If not I just hang up on them.  Luckily we have the additional insurance we need as a benefit of her employment.   Den

Some of the commercials are Humana or Aetna or BCBS... but your right.. A lot of them are AGENTS that probably get a commision when they sell a specific insurance... Anyone can really do that.... AETNA does not have the same "DEAL" in Rural Illinois that they have in CHICAGO... either do the rest of the companies.... All the "AGENT" does is compare  5-6 different Insurance Company Policies that are available in YOUR AREA and recommend which one is the best deal.... Theoretically, they should all come up with the same ANSWER if they really are checking..... and the BEST DEAL depends on if you use no medicine, or if you take several different pills a day... and if you go to doctor every month, or once a year for a checkup..... The "PLANS" vary ( and so does the cost), depending on how much you expect to use it.

I turn my hearing aids off and keep telling them I can't hear, later when they are almost shouting they catch on and hang up, great entertainment.

I get a lot of patients calling me to treat things way out of my scope of practice because they can't get appointments with their md. Wrote two prescriptions today for doxycycline for tick bites. What really concerns me is all the young doctors want to go to north Carolina and Florida. No new blood coming to up state and i imagine it is even worse for all in the mid west

that POS Joe N. is clogging our airways about 30 times a day here! one commercial says your Medicare money will return to you to help pay for the part D that will be billed to you if you call them and take their offers. if you call them and take their offers, they will cancel you from medicare and then you'll be stuck paying for private insurance, you won't be able to return to medicare ever again.

I have had Aetna and only Aetna the last 10 years. I'm 75. Wife has had a couple different insurers and was even paying monthly premiums. She's 68. Switched to Aetna this year. All good.
I should be receiving compensation for this advertisement.
