I just bought an 88 Oliver diesel. The clutch was stuck so I tore the bell housing off to find the clutch was junk.
My parts man told me to go to the 4 puck style. He said the original style was not made as well anymore and they were giving him a lot of trouble
So I did. Put the clutch in. Made sure the clutch was in place. Hooked everything up only to find the clutch doesn't do anything The pedal goes all the way down.

Did you forget to put the throw out bearing back in or miss it with the clutch fork. Just a guess, not knocking you, we are all human and get distracted or make simple mistakes. Please report back cause we may all learn a thing or two. Good luck

I had everything in as it should be. I did notice that when I tighten the pressure plate it sucks the fingers in a bit.

Don't know if there is a general rule for which side the springs are facing but the hub must clear the flywheel bolts.....it only works in one position. Yours may be reversed as Dave says. (his English gets me sometimes LOL)

It will suck the fingers in when tightening. I think the disc is in backwards.

if the disc is backwards probley would not boltup or tighten around the flywheel without a gap i would think probley fork or throw out bearing , or someone modifiyed the linkage to get more out of the clutch than it was suposed to do
