OK, so I got a 'deal'...
FREE 5by8 utility trailer with several hundred feet of used fire hoses. NO brass ends but the trailer's FULL of hoses....

so $64 question...
WHAT do I do with the hoses ???

Wife'd hang me with one IF she could lift a section over the tree......

They make a good discharge hose on my pool layer flat I can mow over it. We use to use them as tow ropes. But if theve been laying in the sun they are trash.

I cut one into 2 ft lengths... Slide the Tie Straps thru them when strapping down around sharp edges of equip or trailer....... but you only need about 20 ft !!

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I use them to cover and protect the hydraulic hoses on my skid steer attachments. Keeps the sun from damaging them while they aren't in use and keeps tree branches from scraping on them in the timber when clearing brush.
Got mine from the local firehouse when they were switching out hoses a few years back.

Weather strip around the edge of garage doors. Ditto the tow strap and use common sense if you do it. Good idea about the hydraulic hose protector.

I just cut some old fire hose to make new flaps at the front of forage wagons to keep feed form falling out when unloading.

Also great to feed your chains through so you protect paint

They are also used around boat docks for protect the sides of the boats. Many other good uses some of which have already been mentioned. What size hose? Hundred foot rolls of 5 inch supply can be a pita to handle.

when I worked for a tow company, they ran chains thru them to use when they had to pick up motorcycles. all the uses above i've seen too. keep them inside and sell a few lengths at garage sales thru the year. also run a garden hose thru one when laying across the driveway/road, will protect the hose when you drive over it. be a good sump pump hose and push bumper cushion.

Makes excellent dock fender material, with exception that it tends to accumulate moss and other marine growth unless it's up at least a foot and a half from the waterline.

If you have a push bumper on a work truck or wrecker, hang them in vertical strips, and then hang another layer between each, it will make your contact much more gentle.

I still need  about 1,400 feet of either 3" or 2" for my garden water idea next year.
I have enough pumps to use as boosters to run from the river to my garden and big tankers to fill at the gate and pump to the crops from the tankers with smaller pumps.
Its just one one of my ideas that would work if I can find hoses. Got the pumps and the big tankers ready to go.
