Fence off some ground that butts right up against the ground that's going to get developed and put a bunch of hogs in there with the feeders that sound like you just dropped a manhole cover, don't forget to buy a flock of peacocks for the front yard.

But I think everybody been telling you backwards. Wink Now you have to worry about keeping the hogs feed, so the lids are banging away.  Then regulating the machine so you have the pretty just right. So you have lots of water in the ground for your corn, but not so much the new tractor sinks.

Keep that machine just blackmail the poor guy you buy the tractor from.Wink Good  deal or is in the dark covered in pretty all winter.

On second thought , any non green farms you can rent it to? Load the old l.....................loving wife and dogs and put that new to you diesel truck to work with the camper. Come over this way Wink push some buttons or what ever the kids do and roll black smoke out that thing.  Just make sure you got a big tank so got fuel to get out of here.LOL

Hey Shame Shame! Congrats on getting rid of a load of problems! We're currently finishing up on a barn that would have room to store that machine. I'd make sure to point it that way to get your "pretty" and I'm SURE these girls wouldn't move the discharge chute to get a day or two off . All it'll cost you is a picture with two little redheads . Seems to me it's a small price to pay. It's not like I'd send it to JoeM and have him post it or anything

Greg...i got what would have been close to my 1/3 rd share plus cash for the remainder that i didn't get due to the way the land sets. plus the house we live in now. i'll still get 1/2 of the present crop on it for this year. guess i'll be farming it just myself next year. will hafta dig out my equipment and grease/oil everything up over the winter. gotta have my 7010 looked at. always something huh! I don't know if i'll replace the grassed waterways that the big green farmers tore out, and also a dam they tore out. will hafta prolly plow the corners they couldn't farm. guess they don't know what one of them hyd levers do in their cabs! i'll know more after the crop is out as to what kinda shape the ground is in. most any rows that had a curve in it, they just ran it down, the crop never made it into the combine. must be straight line farmers only. niether I nor them will hafta worry about it from now on, they won't be on this farm again. I should be able to make some money that they wasted out there.

CONGRATS on your purchase! Not sure this is a good time to start farming again due to the high cost of the inputs.
I am sure your farm was destroyed by the current guys, so you will have a LOT of work to get the fields back the way you want them to be.
P.S.---- I know where there are 2 AC 440's and an N-5 that can be had!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!

If it were me, force the ‘big boys’ to restore the waterways, and the dam.
Granted, they may let your crops sit till last, just to spite you, and harvest in the mud.

You can easily get by with a WD-45, and 2-3 bottom plow. Plus all the extras.

Getting by isn't all that much fun.  The 7010 would be good enough too but a articulated tractor would be more impressive!

Posted By: CrestonM
Date Posted: 07 Oct 2022 at 2:10pm
I, for one, recommend an old articulated tractor like the Steigers or Versatiles. Easier to work on than a fixed frame MFWD from my experience. And if you have a pull type planter they are great…never run out of power or traction, and you don’t have to bulb your turns at the end.

Congratulations on ending that hassle with the stockholders, shameless!! I’m really happy for you. Have fun out there getting the land back into shape. Now if I could just do the same with my stockholders.

Posted By: shameless dude
Date Posted: 08 Oct 2022 at 3:05am
Lars....I don't think i've ever seen a WD45 with air conditioning! shucks after the stockholder screwed me outta most of the farm in earlier years that left me with about 73 acres left to farm, i went and bought a 7080 and a big disk, didn't take me long to til it, and I had fun. no longer have the engine for the 7080, but still have a big disk i can't pull with the 7010. i've always wanted an articulated 4x4 tractor...now is the time i think! lol

The worst days I’ve ever spent farming were in a cabbed tractor with no air conditioning in summer. Wind was nearly non existent, dirt was dry, disc was making a huge dust cloud around the tractor. Kept the doors shut to keep the dust out but I think I lost a few pounds in water weight from sweat.

I had a day like that last year when spraying and baling. That prompted me to get the A/C conversion installed.

back in 1979 when I was put in the hospital for breathing problems, Doc told me I would hafta get a cabbed tractor if I was gonna continue farming. the dust was what was causing my breathing problems. that's when I bought my 7010 new un 1980. that solved my breathing problems.

I use my 7060 for plowing snow and baling hay. I like the heat in winter and air conditioning in the summer. Plus keeps the dust out from the baler.

well....the big green farmers harvested my beans Sunday Oct 8th, don't have the yield results yet. they were nice looking beans, i was concerned they might be BB beans cuz of the lack of rains this year, but they came out full sized. alot of dust this year, seemed more than normal. I did watch them stop a few times to let the dust clear away from the machine before continuing. they used a draper head, I didn't know they made drapers that small, appeared to be about a 20 ft one.
