I have an 8050 power shift that sometimes will not shift into 5th.  Sometimes it hesitates and then shifts, other times it will not shift into 5th, and sometimes it shifts fine.  Once you get it to shift into 5th, it seems to work fine from then on the rest of the day.  Just recently I put it in reverse and let the clutch out, and it didn't want to move.  About half an hour later I tried reverse again and it worked fine.  The linkage adjustment feels fine.  I am wondering if it could be something in the valve assembly.  Just wondering if anyone has any idea of what might cause this.

Thanks,
Gary

Sounds like a linkage problem inside valve body. A linkage brakes some times, but shifter don't feel right.                       MACK

The shifter feels like it always has.  If you take the valve body off, you can get to that linkage?

Yes. Don't need to drain oil.                  MACK

Taking the valve body off is not nearly as bad of a gig as it would seem. I prolonged doing it on my 7060 because I was dreading it. After doing it, it was like, "why didn't we do this a long time ago!"

Thank you all for the help.  After I get done planting wheat I will take it off and see what I find.

You're parking it, right ?? Using a Power Shift when you know there is a problem isn't usually a wise decision.
