Can anyone recommend a good replacement high back seat for a ‘45? I have a Tractor Supply seat on my CA but seat sits too high. Don’t want such on the 45. Dana

I have one that works fairly well for me.  Unfortunately, I don't know where it came from and I've had it for 15 years.  It is a high back with hinged armrests.  U.S. made according to a sticker.  Previous owner had it mounted on a steel plate.  Because of offset steering wheel it was centered which to me was too far to the right so I had the plate re-drilled and move to the left 2 or 3 inches, not centered on the wheel but gives a little more room by the fender.  I'm going on memory and will see the tractor tomorrow to confirm.  You obviously can't use the flip hinge arrangement with this set-up.

I think I'd first re-engineer the seat linkage. That curved flat iron that the hinge is on would get changed to straight back level and then straight up to where the seat would be. Then, a spring/shock down to the platform. This would eliminate stepping over the suspension getting on and off. I'd be happy with a D-17 deluxe seat with no armrests. Left armrest would have to flip up to get on and out of seat.

Wow Doc there’s thinking outside the box. Thanks Dennis. I’d sure like to see pics of both of your ideas. Anyone have any pics to share? Surely someone has seen/done something along with Docs ideas. Dana

And, while you're at it, weld a 1 inch strap across the front edge of the right footrest to hold the brake pedals ahead a little farther. This creates more room for your right foot if you have big feet. Readjust brake rods to compensate for new position.
