I'm working on a F700 and I'm changing the oil.

It has three drain /fill plugs. (bottom, mid bottom, top)

Which is the correct fill level plug?   Top or middle plug?

The housing cover was used on several differing styles differentials, it is for a Temperature Sensor in some applications and plugged here.

Yes.
General rule is somewhere just below Axle Tube center, so the bearings receive adequate oil for lube and cooling.

The 1/2 " square on top as Miller said. Not the smaller 3/8" square. Not sure why they have that smaller one. Too low to be a minimum level. Has to be close to the half on the housing.Smile

Hopefully you can get the bottom drain out. Have seen those scrapped almost flat on dump trucks. If that one gives you trouble heat it up good with torch. Walk away from it and let it cool totally. Then it will come out easy.
