What’s the best way to remove the clutch from the compressor? Old fashioned square-ish compressor, 1995 3406. Clutch fell off, have another complete unit, but not the equipment to evacuate the system. Figure I would swap clutch. How can I hold the clutch and unscrew the center bolt at the same time?

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

A/C clutch tool...duh

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Hey Lars,,,having had to "DO OVERS" enough times when I tried to "save" a little money and time by NOT evacuating system,, I NOW always evacuate the system, especially in the hotter months due to excess humidity and that is what you trying to get out. I don't think Oriellys has the vaccum pumps but they do have the clutch puller tool tho. Good Luck!!

Getting the bolt out should not be that tough, just have to hold the remnant of the drive plate to break loose and unscrew. That drive plate IIRC is threaded for a 5/8 USS bolt to push it off the taper shaft.
