To separate coolant out of used oil? Have a 8,000 gal storage for used oil, about 20 in on the bottom is red coolant, from oil changing, leaking oil coolers etc. Not all engine oil, some gear oil, hyd fluid, diesel etc. stuck a suction pipe down, and pumped out till black showed coming out nozzle, but has the consistency of water. Gonna fill a couple totes of this mix, and see if it will separate out. Are there any other tricks to this? The oil recyclers don’t want any coolant in the batch. | Drain valve/plug at the bottom of the tank. Open just enough for the water/coolant to come out first. Don’t know if all can separated if emulsified |

Unfortunately no drain plug on bottom of tank. ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science. |

engine oil will separate from water / antifreeze if allowed to set... Many hydraulic oils are made to hold water in suspension.. they dont seperate... All you can do is slowly suck the good oil off the top or put a long tube and suck the mix off the bottom.... its not going to be pretty. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

That, I have no clue. Tank is probably 30 yrs old. There is an outlet valve on one end, about 6-8 inches up from the bottom, but for a drain plug on the ‘belly’ of the tank there is not. ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there.
