Pretty sure I have two on one of my D-14s. I know the ring gear came from there.... | I have an aftermarket (India) amp meter on my 180. Hooked the wires up the same as they were on the old gauge. Guess what......it now indicates discharge instead of charge. I can live with it that way, until I have need to remove the cover and switch the wires. The polarity marks on the back of the gauge were incorrect. |

You can buy a set of them for $40. How good do you think they are going to be at that price. They don't even look like the originals. Different needle and different trim ring. Spend a little more money and get good quality gauges from one of the vendors here. Some of them offer ones made in the USA too. X2.....Don’t waste your money on them. Too many have complained about them. Ordered a temp gauge from Steiner unaware it was a knockoff. Didn’t even look like the picture in the catalog. Put it back in the package and sent it back. It was cheesy looking. Got the real deal through AGCO even though it was over double the price. Have a friend with a restored WD-45. When the hydraulics kicked the pump out the traction booster gauge exploded and hit him on the face just below his eye. No cheap knock offs ! Agco or DJS ------------- Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed |

| Put a cheap ammeter on my D 15 . Steve at B and B advised me to install a voltmeter , which I did . Can't remember but maybe because I'm running a alt . Just food for thought . If I need any gauges in the future I'm gonna check with Steve . Thanks ! |

| I'm having issues with my Amp guage also. It's wired correctly but when the tractor is started it shows a discharge but my hand held voltage meter shows differently! Tomorrow I'm gunna install a made in the USA Agco gauge!!! Ryan |

| All new traction booster gauges are that way. Weather they are from djs, Steiner or anywhere. A original is the only functional gauge you can get. |

| I don't know about DJ's gauges, but I asked him about his tachometers (last year at the Hutchinson GOTO) and he said they are foreign made. |

Reverse the wiring on the gauge. I hooked mine up correctly, but the gauge was backwards to the original.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, BUT, there are very little gauges made in the USA anymore. Just about every one of them is foreign made. Just like oil and grease seals. Singapore, India, China, Mexico, indonesia, and the list goes on. Agco ain't makin' their gauges either so don't fool yourself. MIGHT be a little better quality, but we're losing ground here on quality as time progresses. It's a damn shame, but this is what we're up against. I have a pile of used OEM traction booster gauges, and there's only a couple fellers that rebuild them the last I checked. And they're expensive to rebuild, so how much do you ask for a traction booster gauge to make a couple bucks for yourself? $300. bucks?? I like to sleep at night, that's why they're still sitting in the bin. I had a personal friend of mine that was building Ammeters for Harley motorcycles. He retired. I approached him quite a few years back to build a nice Ammeter for me to sell to our AC customers. He wasn't interested because at that time he was ready to retire. So much for that idea. I was going to look into it, but I have enough on my plate, and I'm not getting any younger either........ LOL! I had a new functioning Traction boost gauge. The needle fell off in 15 hours and the gauge filled with oil and popped the glass in another 5. The forum is filled with similar posts. I think oldoug on here used to rebuild them, but not sure. I finally went and ordered the same sized oil filled 5000PSI gauge from Valley. It has red/orangish lettering and looks Allisish. $30 and is working 5 years later. It's doing the exact same thing, it just reads in PSI instead of on the TRACTION BOOST scale

| I was sorting through some old stuff and came across a box for an oil pressure gauge that I purchased from a vendor on here & it was made in Taiwan. This was probably 15 years ago so this has been going on for quite a while. Unfortunately, it's getting to be a real challenge to avoid the Chinese stuff. I don't consider Taiwan as part of the Chinese problem, maybe the stuff from there isn't any better-who knows? |

While the AGCO gages may still be US made, I seriously doubt you will find an aftermarket US made gage. There just aren't many suppliers to choose from. With very few exceptions (I cant think of ANY) it will be foreign. Its just a fact that there isn't enough market to support better made parts and the market is getting smaller. After 22 years selling parts I can tell you that the last of the American made parts are pretty much gone and the bulk of the market didn't notice. Jim is exactly right. Ever since I started my business in 1968, I always took on mfrs that were USA based and stood behind their products for quality and function. (wasn't to tough then) Those days are loooooong gone. Now today, I'm having problems with trying to keep that same attitude on quality in parts as well as service, and if it wasn't for me doing this electrical stuff for 50+ years and the inventory I have to help support the quality end of it, I'd probably stop doing the rebuilding. I'm getting close to that now. I still have parts on the shelf made by a company called Filko. Most folks never even heard of them. It was good quality USofA electrical and tune-up parts. Today with the cost of products going up n' up, it's even tough to build quality wiring systems anymore. It's really getting tough out there. A couple times I absorbed the cost of copper products to keep the prices down on the wiring systems, but it's been super tough and I don't see any relief in sight........It's sad. Not to mention that we dealers have absorbed a great deal of the price increases. When I started I was looking for 35% markup. Now 10% isn't unusual. So many dealers with no product knowledge and buyers just go by price. I'm not complaining (OK, maybe a little) Ive been fed and taken care of almost completely by parts and service for 22 years. Not a bad run. I remember when Darin had 15+ advertisers on this page.
