I have one leaking. ReedE at the Farm-Store got me fixed up with the new seal and wiper. Can't get the front pin out! Did a search on here, MACK had advice to use a hammer and chisel to getting it moving, I had that thought in my head before hand and gave it a try. No avail. My next move is bigger hammer and chisel. If that doesn't work I may heat it with the rosebud. Is there any reason I shouldn't? I power washed the whole tractor with special attention of this area and will have an extinguisher handy, don't want a fire. I would really like to get this job knocked out Saturday, tractor pull Sunday at Colfax and the combine needs to get out soon for it's fall prep. Also would like to use the 185 to do a little spraying yet this year.

| When I cannot easily get out the pin, I do it right on the tractor. Pull the upper pin and physically lift the hitch clear up to get some room to work. |

| Take a torch and cut the head of the 12 point bolt off behind the pin so you can unbolt the cylinder mount from the tractor, then put it in a press to push out the pin, the cutoff bolt can then be removed with a visegrip. |

I have the pin 'moving' now. It's not out but at least it moves. Just needed a bigger hammer. |

Dumb question but, you do have the hair pin removed from lower pin?? I went to help cut out a pin with my sawzall, the hair pin was still in it, a little penetrant a little heat and we had both pins out. ------------- AC 200, CAH, AC185D bareback, AC 180D bareback, D17 III, WF. Yes, the hair-pin is out. It wasn't that bad to remove. I'll get this in time, just keep it working back and forth. It's moving easier but can't twist it with pliers yet. |

Persistence pays off! Got that stupid pin out this morning. I just kept working it back and fourth and spraying it with JB80. Finally got to where I could turn it with pliers, downhill after that. Cleaned up the cylinder and took it apart. Reed had me up to speed on how to disassemble, would have been lost without that! Changing the seal and wiper was pretty easy. Got it back on the machine then went to change the 'fuel' filter that got beat-up removing that pin. Well, that's where the fuel filter is on the 6080. Turns out that's the hydraulic filter on a 185. Luckily, had 2 on the shelf. So the old girl got some unexpected maintenance today. Stared up and cycled the three-point several times, no leaks detected so far. |
