I just had the pump redone and looked at the timing marks and it was 14 degrees btc.  Is this right?  I put it in my 8050 and it was running hot according to the guage baling hay.

Not knowing the model year or any numbers off your injection pump, I'd guess 16 degrees BTDC is correct for a DM-4 Stanadyne.

Was it a late L2 with AMBAC 100 pump?  if so then it would need to be timed at 18 to 19 degrees BTDC.
