I can't imagine baling in Indiana with a long sleeve shirt in that cab with no AC even in early June. Must be cool there this time of year. That tractor was bouncing but had no problem baling pretty high and thick hay in those windrows. Liked the lights on the top of the cab. | I remember once back in the late 70's the AC quit working on my 200 about half way thru baling a 30 acre field and it was a HOT,HOT day. I finished the field but all I had on when I finished was underwear and tennis shoes. |

Yes, third high. Tractor never seems to run out of power. Had the engine completely rebuilt a few years ago, didn't spare anything. Inj pump Ed did the pump and injectors; guess he did a good job ! Darrel |

We were raking and baling early in the morning when it was still pretty cool out. It is alfalfa being baled, and if we baled that in the heat of the day, we wouldn't have a leaf left on it. We put LED lights on er, so night time baling isn't a problem either. Darrel |

The various conditions for baling that exist out West amazes me versus Indiana. Aside from cool, you must not have any dew in the morning to start baling that early. I have never been able to do nighttime baling. I rigged up lights similar to those for cutting hay at night. When the sun goes down, everything picks up moisture. I have tried to press my luck on baling at almost dark and I start breaking shear pins. Not to mention the bale weights. I can rake the hay with dew to keep the leaves on and give it a few hours, then I can bale. Calico, our dew conditions vary alot. Couple nights prior to making this video, we went out at midnight, and it was so dry that we couldn't rake and bale. Alfalfa leaves were just flying everywhere. The morning that I made that video, there was just barely enough dew to make it work. Other times, the dew gets so bad that we have to quit. Darrel |
