looks like depth bands for planters.  goes on each side to limit planting depth.

Oh, the part number I found on them is 386865, if that helps any to confirm what they are.

That number wasn't listed in my 1969 master parts book, so I would say they're after 1969 if I understand it right.

Ok, if they are depth bands for a planter, how do they work?  Really don't understand this, I guess.  Thanks for the help.  Dave

Basically, they bolt on the opening disc of the planter, allowing limited penetration...Wink
