Been lurking for a while and reading old posts. I have a question hopefully someone can help. My 7060 (black Belly, serial number after 6001) keeps popping out of reverse. I've traced it down to what I think the problem is. On the Agco 7060 parts book page 220 item 4 (part number 70262803), the flat peace that bolts to the linkage is broken, someone tried to weld it in the past (poorly lol). My question is how do you get the ink out? it shows a ball and spring under the cap Items 9 & 5. When I pulled the cap there was not a ball or spring in it. I had hoped that the link would pull out to the side but it is tight, so something must be inside (snap ring?). Do I need to pull the entire top plate? Is the link accessible under the top plate, if I need to pull how do I keep the springs and balls in ports C & B from falling out and into the transmission? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you. |

| Pretty tough to weld in chassis. Especially if someone else has tried and failed. Take shift cover off the top of the tranny to work on it. Floor comes out of the cab. Might want to look into cab mounts flattened out with age stressing this linkage ?? |

| Thank you very much for the help. When removing the top plate what is the chance of the springs and balls falling into the transmission? Is there a trick to make sure this doesn't happen. I've never had one off and just trying think ahead so I hopefully don't create additional problems. |

| Nothing is going to fall into the tranny. There are TWO shoulder bolts holding the cover on the trans top. Remember which holes they came out of. |

| Those shafts keep everything(springs/balls)contained in plate. You have to take it apart.It doesn't fall apart on it's own. |

Does anyone have any tricks to line the shift forks up with the gears when putting the transmission top back in? I cant seem to get them lined up to the gears and the gears push over since it is too tight to drop it straight down. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You

| Got it back together. Ran some bailing wire through the bolt holes and kept just enough weight that a buddy could slide a long screwdriver and move the gears till they lined up. |
