I may of happened upon the remains of a WC high crop.

Has factory 36" rear wheels, and look just like the wheels on one the wide front high crops posted online. But this one is narrow front.

Did they actually ever made a WC high that was narrow front? Or is this a mutt?   There are no front wheels on it to get an idea if it sits level.  Is the front bolster different then a regular narrow front WC?

Were factory High crop tractors marked anywhere or stamped anywhere to differentiate from regular WC?

I'm pretty sure WC's with factory 36 inch rear rubber had a slower ring & pinion to get the ground speeds back to what a regular WC was. Same gear set as an RC.

Look by the were the seat bracket is there should be numbers and and X in that location.
Those tractors have the slower gears in them.

Thompson "cane" Wc's had 36" rear tires. They usually were made to load sugar cane on rail cars or trucks. Is there any evidence of a big old loader on the tractor? They were usually mounted on the rear of tractor.

So where exactly? Theres nothing other then the regular WC serial on the rear end pad.

X designates the slow gears?

Sheridan Hansen had his on one of the Classic Tractor Fever videos.  Apparently it was a factory high crop and few were made.  He mentioned the gearing and 36" rear tires as the main differences between regular WCs
