I bought a D17 last fall used it for a day and it started leaking power steering fluid. Thought I had it fixed and then it started to spray fluid out of the cylinder when I turn the steering wheel. Fixable or do I need to find a new part?

"MOST" small cylinders come apart.......... and the thing that goes WRONG is the VEE rubber seals is piston seals.. They can be replaced.... 2-3 different ways those small cylinders are made on the head removal / disassemble........... I have not done a D17.... just did a CASE 530 last year.. Worked great !

where is it spraying from the PS cylinder or ram ?
If it's between the endcap and cylinder tube, it's probably the o'ring seal.

There's another o'ring where the cylinder bolts to the front casting, but it's not under pressure.

Other causes;
Might be a cracked cylinder tube.
Loose or stripped fitting at the rear where the line screws on.

@steve(ill) , yep that's the one.  I'd hate to pay that guy an hourly wage.

BTW, no need to remove the rack from the piston rod; that is ONE HEAVY press-fit.

I have a good used cylinder with the rack I would sell if you need one.
