My 6060 rear axle just started leaking. I have read the repair manual and it looks as all I have to do is unbolt axle housing and then disassemble the axle from the housing. Just want to make sure when I slide this out, nothing drops down in the rear end.

I have also found that putting to much grease in the fitting at the end of the axle shaft will mess up the seals and cause them to leak.
one of the guys in the shop over greased at the service and the next morning there's a puddle of oil under both axles.

I have replaced them on JD but just making sure nothing would fall down in the rear end when I took the axle housing off.  I just split the tractor to but a new driveshaft in that broke and don't have five hours on it since doing that work.

I need to check that, I have noticed the last few times that when I check the oil, there is a significant amount of pressure on the plug with the dipstick.

So I am trying to locate the vent under the cab, I can see it in the book, but does it run up into the cab somewhere or does it just vent under the cab.  Sorry for all the questions but just can't seem to locate it.

More than likely just a square pipe plug looking thing that has a hole in packed with a small baffle. That's what my 190 vent plugs are.

If you lift the entire seat assembly up from the floor it is right there in the hole the seat base left i the floor.  If i remember right, its a little tin  crimped on cap type.  I have had to unplug mine a couple times  each time the axle seals quit leaking after i did that
