HI, I wonder how many other people are having trouble?!?! I
talked to Jerry JC(WI) last night and he can't sign in. He switched to
Firefox (which I am currently using) from Chrome and can't sign in. He
tried on his cell phone also and can't sing in. He could before these
changes you made. Lon Lon(MN) just emailed me and he also cannot log in. Something you did won't allow them to get on. How can you fix this? ------------- "Allis-Express" 19?? WC / 1941 C / 1952 CA / 1956 WD45 / 1957 WD45 / 1958 D-17 |

| I had to create a new profile to get in. my old one is Greg (Hillsboro, OH) Hopefully it can be reactivated. When i tried to click the forgot password, it told me my user name was not valid. I then entered email address,, it said it would send a new link, but I never received the email. Tried several times |

I'm in, I'M IN!!!  Don't know what was the magic but I AM IN !!! No doubt it was 99.99998% chance that it was Darin that fixed it so I can log in again. If using Firefox, goto 'history', 'clear recent history' UNCHECK 'active logins' and 'cookies'. This shouldl keep you always logged into the forum.. ------------- 3 D-14s,A-C forklift, B-112 Kubota BX23S lil' TOOT( The Other Orange Tractor) Never burn your bridges, unless you can walk on water |

I have been locked out for 2 days. My problem was when i signed in it said my name and password did not match.. I asked for a new password and had one sent to my original e-mail address. I tried that password and it said it did not match my name.. I asked for another pass word and gave my NAME as to who to send it to.. It said my NAME did not match my email address......... So there is NO WAY i could sign in.. Tried 3-4 times with different passwords sent. I did not have a different email to try so i had to setup an account on gmail... I then regiested NEW with a NEW name, NEW password and NEW e-mail.... My ORIGINAL Name and Email account do not match in the main frame.. No new password will help. So i am back on now with a new name ( il) instead of (ill) ..... will need to FIX old or get access to Political section if old cannot be fixed...... I would assume there are OTHERS in this situation also... and NO WAY to contact you if your Locked Out.

Steve, I don't know how you got to keep the () around the IL part . That was severely screwing me up with my old name, besides the clicking on the forgot your password and it would say, new password sent to email... and it never showed up in email, not even trash or scam, unless Darin sent it himself... and the last email had my new name and new password and it did not work at around 6 pm... nor at around 7pm... then late in the night after midnite, I tried fooling around with it and hand entered it one more time and ...blink,blink  , IT WORKED! Don't know what changed but it did work. What is funnier yet is the fact is, the email account is from the telephone company with my name n it, but the email itself was set up for Cheryl with her name on it... which would not match if the system looks at ownership of it. But I had used the email to establish the the notifications from Unofficial Allis website. and never changed it to my own email I had created in the telephone office some many years ago now. So maybe that was screwing things up I don't know. Then I thought I had my g-mail account initiated onto my 'new' "smart" phone (so I could get my minutes to show for some dum reason) and it ties both g-mail, google and my phone (tracfone) together under one password... which somehow screwed up Cheryl's google and g-mail account... again,  . Found out yesterday that I could send out on g-mail, but I discovered I can't receive messages to it. ... soooo, I couldn't change to that email if I had to make a new account. SHEESH!!! World is getting nuttier all the time with it's electron tech crap... tho it is nice when it works right.But gets infuriating when it doesn't and costs more buck$ to get the crap straightened out or fixed...or replaced. Maybe Darin might see you are in need of help and help you out as he had so generously had helped me. Got a FB Messenger message from Gary Roidt [ Gary(WI) ] and he can't get in either. Makes me think it is a problem with the ( )'s around part of the name/handle. The problem is not the () .... i changed from (ill) to (il)..... looks SIMILAR, but one less L..... the PROBLEM i had is when your SIGNING IN it says it will send you a new password to your NAME or your EMAIL....... I put in my EMAIL and i got a password... But it would not work with my SIGN IN NAME..... I signed in again and told them to send the password to me, but i gave my SIGN IN NAME... and then it said my Email and Sign in NAME were not tied together ...... only way to get around it is to use a NEW NAME, NEW E-MAIL and NEW PASSWORD.. You cant get the NEW PASSWORD to work with your OLD EMAIL and OLD SIGN ON NAME.

Steve, your other account is still active, at least still all the posts are there, wonder if that was the problem with the (ill), now your completely different account? From what I can see JC has changed his account name but account is still the same? At least it appears his older posts have his new name attached.

Steve, That was part of the problem in my case... as I said it gave me the run-around too with the password... When I requested a new password using my old name JC(WI), it came back something like this, JC#&/WI#&/ and saying something about name was wrong, so after that I was requesting new password and used old email. WELL JC.... you "MAY" be right....... To prove you were wrong, i signed out, tried my OLD name and of course it did not work.. So then i tried to sign in with my NEW NAME (il) and IM LOCKED OUT AGAIN !!!... So i went BACK to GMAIL and made a SECOND ACCOUNT , then came back here and made a NEW REGISTER with OUT the ( )........... and im BACK IN AGAIN !! I went back and looked and anyone with the ( ) ... does not seem to be posting... so that may be it!!

Sorry, I had other fires to put out today. Apparently the newest version of the forum software has some issue with the () in the user names. It may let you create new ones with () but it did not like the old ones. I will pull up a list of affected users and see if I can just remove the (). From the user name. The user name is NOT what all old posts and history are keyed on. OK, I rolled back the software to the version we were on earlier. I made a test user with (MO) in the name and it worked fine with the old version but had trouble on the new one. Thanks Darin for all you do to keep this great page going. I would request my password to be updated, and it wouldn't accept my user name that had (), but it would accept my email. It said it sent a new password, but it never came through. Apparently after you rolled it back, it finally sent me a password, and now I'm back with my original profile YAY!!! Let us know if/what we need to do before you update it again. |

Yep I was locked out too. Tried to get new account but I only have 1 email address and it said it already had a account & wouldn't let me in. Darrin sent me a message and I finally got back on today.

So,is it safe to reset my password to my original PW so I can remember it. When I tried it yesterday and logged off I couldn't reset to old and get it to work. Had to request a new email one.
