In my area of eastern PA I've seen a lot of D-21s in the super stock/pro stock classes but I don't recall ever seeing any 7000 or 8000 series pullers. Just curious because they all use the 426 engine.

The D21 was perfect for pulling it was actually pretty light coming out of the factory for the power it had or could get out of it ; the 7 + 8000 series tractors were HEAVY ; they could be stripped but it takes alot and I would think keeping the balance factor would be hard , Brad Howell had a 7045 w\ 4 turbos, John Lancaster had the awesome 210 w\ a few blowers ; they all pulled the heavy classes I believe ; Im sure there was\ are others out there ; Maybe DR Allis or MACK know of some , Im sure they both have some great stories !!!

John Lancaster and Al koch are a team. They have an D21 in the light class with a d21 rearend alot of cutting was done to make it light enuf. Im pretty sure Brad howels tractor was also a D21 chassis with 7000 series sheet metal. Lancaster , Koch, and Norm Green were the 1 st to ever put 4 turbos on a tractor there the original Quad squad. As far as and cast iron or stock chassis being built today In super stock pulling I would say very few. A component chassis are cheaper and lighter and alot more durable and easier to work with. Eric
