I am going to purchase a 3 or conversion for my D 27. There are 2 types, wishbone style and one that attaches to the drawbar. I still intend to use the sc for plows. What are the pros and cons of each style. As always thanks for your help.

For my D-14s, I converted my 3ph rototiller to SC using an adapter 'rig' or whatever you properly call it. It make the tiller a SC tiller so EASY to get on and off. I also BOLTED a top link to the tiller so I don't have to readjust it every time I install it.

In my opinion the wishbone style would be the only type I would consider using, I'd call this type an "adapter". The other type (I'd call a conversion) where you remove all the stock drawbar mounting brackets and use those 4 bolt hole to mount the 3pt frame should only be on the scrap pile. If those 4 bolts are not kept tight a 3pt will wear out those bolt holes in the transmission and lift housing the same as the factory 3pt used on the D10/12 & 15 tractors. Every one of the 3pt hitches I've encountered that is bolted on that way has 1 or more of the holes drilled out for larger bolts and many have actually cracked the housing.

The adapter allow to retain the use of the traction booster and all Snap Coupler equipment, whereas the conversion does not allow use of either.

The conversion that bolts to the drawbar will still allow uses of the snap coupler equipment. No bracket removal required.
