Trying to find rims at a combine salvage yard, they are asking me what the offset is to fit a D 17 - I don't know how to answer that. The rims they have is off a 6600 Deere combine. Will they fit? Looking at 16" x 26 rims
Thanks Larry Miller

First off, you want an 8-bolt pattern. I don't think a Deere 6600 is the same bolt pattern as a D-17, is it??  I think a 3300 combine might work.  I'd guess if the 8-bolt mounting surface doesn't stick out one bit from the lip of the rim, that might work. The more "in" the mounting surface is to the outside of the rim, the more likely it will be to fit without rubbing the fender. If you remove one of your wheels you can measure from the inside of the tire (using a straightedge) to the 8-bolt surface and know something that way.

I was looking for the same thing a number of years ago, but for 28" rims and was told by a knowledgeable person that there aren't any combine wheels (or tires for that matter) that would fit a D17.

He worked at a salvage yard that dealt mainly in combines, but knew AC tractors.

26 inch combine wheels will fit because they don't have any spin-out rails to hit the final drive housing. Most combine wheels on a D-17 are from a model E or K Gleaner I think and then they turn them around backwards and the tractor is quite wide.

30 years ago i took combine wheels, cut the center out of the old rim ( about a foot in diameter) to get the 8 bolt pattern, then welded it to the center of the combine rim.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Larry, in the 22 years I was in the farm tire business, I saw several early D17's with yellow rims on the back. I thought they were off 4400 combines, but I am not 100% sure if that is correct. A tape measure across the bolt holes and across the center hole would soon tell you.

Most all the older 8 hole wheels will fit a D17. IH, case, oliver, gleaner, jd, and mf.                  MACK

My D17 diesel had 18.4x26 combine rims on it when I bought it.  Fortunately I got the power adjust rims with the tractor - they had close to 1' of rot on each side of the valve stems.  I fixed them up and removed the combine rims shortly there after.  You can see that the combine rims stuck out quite a bit wider...

John Deere 45 combine wheels work. I have a set on one of my WD-45's. A 6600 is a bigger bolt pattern. But those old combines are drying up and I would hate to price a 26" tire.
