Looking at changing to a white planter this year. Was toying around with running it off my 7060, but I only have 2 remotes. Is there an easy way to rig up a power beyond system to run the planter blower off the tractor, or just get a hydraulic pump.

The best system for many years of trouble-free use?? get the correct PTO pump. Keep the bolts clean and tight on the PTO shaft !! Using the tractors hydraulic pump will eventually wear on it. It has a life of "X" amount of hrs of use. Planter duty is pretty continuous and at higher pressures. If it was the only way, then that would be different. Get a PTO pump.

we run a pto pump on ours and pull it with a 7080. has its own cooler and works flawlessly.

We pulled a white 12 row with our 7060 and a pto pump. Best way to do it in my opinion. Helps keep the heat down in the hydraulics

I remember way back when IH came out with their PTO mechanical driven fans on the CYCLO planter. Simple, reliable and no heat problem. What is the advantage of today's hydraulic driven or the previous ones that had electric fans over the simple mechanical driven fan? When White first came out with the electric fans no tractor had an electrical system of powering that many amps continuously and I've seen tractors catch on fire from overheated wiring.
I helped a custom operator back in the late 70s & early 80s that had a 600 series Cyclo planter. That planter went to the field in early May and ran every day it was fit to go until late June or early July. In more than 6 years I never knew of any PTO repairs, just greased everything first thing every morning. The pivots on all the ground trucks did need to be tightened up

I'd like to rig one up to run off the tractor someday, but the good Dr. is right, pumps dont last forever, and PTO pumps are relatively cheap to buy and run.
my 8R30 White 6108 planter runs one I borrowed off my 8r36 6108, and I just bought a big pump today that ran a central fill 8824 White, big 1000 PTO, so I guess the 7080 is a planter tractor now...lol
pay attention to the plumbing, I believe the PTO pump systems need you to route the blower lines like its an open center tractor according to the manual.
