Otherwise I got a Batteries Plus batt in my JD cause it shot craps on a Saturday.

Thus far it has been good also.

I can't remember taking one back in for replacement/exchange.

Everstart batteries sold by Wal-Mart are a lowest contract battery. Many vendors bid for their manufacture. None I've seen over the years are of the same quality the manufacturer's in house names offer.

I look for reserve capacity when purchasing starting batteries as the longer rated are usually better constructed. Interstate, and Deka branded are about the best in my experience currently offered on retail levels. Cost more too..... 

If you would like Deka, try ordering them through your local Lowes. I have bought several from them at about the same price as a Walmart battery.

They lasted as long as 'brand name' batteries for me but a LOT cheaper to buy ! Mine don't get daily use or checked at often,er ,seldom, ok, next to never.....

If they're going into a tractor that has a block heater,buy and install a battery warmer !! Nothing is harder on ANY battery than trying to supply electrons when it's freezing cold !

Come to think of it my car battery came from Walmart. Benn in there 3-4 years now and so far so good

dang mower batteries are $100 out the door , on a GOOD day..sigh

 The dealers know I am a poor poor farmer looking for a deal. JD parts man trade beer for a big 12 v that he had warrantied for a big important customer. It replaced 2 6's in the MH2 combine. Never bought another 6 v for it. One of the last 6v was a Cat battery the parts man gave me, had broke off one post. Had friend that cast a lot of bullets over the years.  Showed me a trick or 2 lasted good on a Cat pony motor. But have been running those on 12 v since. Been 30 years never burned one of the 6v starters up yet.  Yes Shameless and some more of you can say it, I AM CHEAP.

My daughters had here Kia die in the Wally parking lot.  With a little , pledging only  girls can do , one of the Wally people put the new battery in. But comes and daddy it looks funny. Wrong battery for the hold down or the post where backward  I don't remember, and I get  can you fix it. So we got the right one.  First thing that needed a battery was the HD 5 so in it goes, but the I need a bigger one lite in my mind is on.  Well a year latter it works so why change now. That little cheap Wally battery lasted 5 or 6 years. Just rattling around in the box sitting months at a time unused. AC sent them out with 2 big 6v , but it came to us with one 12v in 68 or so.

Better to use them or pull and charge if the machine will sit for months. But I don't always remember , I just don't know how that happens.

Sometimes you just have to gamble. Christmas eve and going to the inlaws in the next town over. The car needs a little jump, grab a handful of tools. Off we go drop mom and the kids off, head for the store. First one still open was chain I had never been to. But had one that was a fit, lasted a week longer than warranty.  If I had played shuffle the battery from car to baler to tractor and back, I don't think anything of that. But in the car that runs at least 2 or 3 times a week most 6 or 7, and we are a 30 minutes from town so gets a good charge every time. That a cheap but costly battery.

Back when Kragon Auto came to town and had a $35 Heat Beater Battery. My 75 Chevy pickup sure did eat batteries, cause that's what I put on the warranty card of all batteries. If they wanted say no or very limited warranty in anything but car or  lite truck. Scratched the date on as well as the decal , and had a place for all the paperwork. The $5 or $10 bucks off on the ones dying at  3 to 5 years made them as cheap as any you could buy.
