Hello my name is Jackson and I am restoring my great grandfathers 1949 Allis Chalmers Model C. I am in need of new tires. My service manual says the rear tire size is 9x24. I know nowadays tires are measured differently and wondered if anybody knew what the tires size was in todays measurements. I would like to keep it as original as possible. Thank you.

I believe you'd be looking for 11.2 x 24 tires

M.E. Miller Tire shows a 9.5 x 24 replaced the 9 x 24. My grandfathers B had 10 x 24 on it which is now an 11.2 X 24.  A 9.5 is listed for a 8" wide rim. The 11.2 recommends a 10" wide rim.

My C's all have 11.2 x 24 on them but they had been replaced before I got the tractors. They look good and work great.

When I owned my farm tire shop, I put a lot of 11.2x24 tires on them. If this is for a parade tractor and you can find some irrigation special tires, they are usually a lot cheaper than regular tractor tires. If you are going to use it in the field or pull it at the county fairs, put standard tractor tires on it. I preferred Firestone Traction Field And Roads not Firestone Field and Roads. They are a whole lot cheaper tire than the Traction Field and Road.
