| Have an 8070 with 38 in centers. The number cast into them is 265651. They are near 3 in thick and about as big around as the center. Does anyone know what they weigh? Only one per side and fluid in inner tires. Think it's a little light for tillage and may want to add some weight. TIA |

I think that is a 250 lb weight...should have 2-3 per (inner) wheel depending if you have long axles with cast centers in the duals. Then two should be enough. ------------- 405, 7000, 7050, 8050, 8070, L3, 2300 & 2600 disk |

| There are some that are like double of the 400 pounders. There are also some made for 32 inch wheels versus 38 inch wheels. I've installed two 400's on the inside of each rear wheel on 7060 tractors for 1600 lbs of cast iron, plus full fluid in the rear 20.8 x 38 tires, which was another 1,100 lbs per tire.. |

| op manual says it weighs 16700 as base model....the formula of 130lb per HP says it needs to weigh 22100. My fluid,rear and front weights should be around 4000lb. Still a couple thousand light by that . I think I weighed it in 09 when I got it ...but I have CRS. It was a planting tractor when I got it. Need to weigh splits and see where it's at. |

| Not sure how the Op manual comes up with that 16,700 lbs number. Nebraska Test #1167 says the tractor weighs 13,990 lbs with an operator sitting in the seat. Rear tires are 20.8 x 38's with 20.8 x 38's factory duals !!!! and 14L x 16's on the front. No other ballast whatsoever. Power Director transmission. |

| Well,for sure it needs weighed to start with and go from there. My 220 is at 15500 with some fluid in 30.5s and I seem to remember this weighing close to same as is. Like I said been too many years. Works okay in dry dirt but does scoot some dirt. When things get a little wet I think it could use more weight to help it stick but I'm no expert. |

| Build in more weight ?? Then, the tractor costs more. A lighter base tractor is generally more preferred because then you can tailor it to what you want to use it for. Best examples I can give is a WD45 was rated at 43 PTO HP and came from West Allis with factory rear fluid and weighed right at 4300 lbs. It would normally pull a 3 x 14's plow at that weight. Need more weight for your farm?? ADD IT ON YOURSELF !!! Similarly a D-17 gas was 53 PTO HP and came from West Allis with rear fluid right at 5300 to 5500 lbs and would easily handle 3 x 16's or 4 x 14's. Need more weight for your farm?? ADD IT ON !! I've always said at least 100 lbs per PTO HP. Some say more and that's up to them. I say 100 lbs MINIMUM for plowing. |

| Chuck,it's got radials. (18.4) Firestones inside and Goodyears that came on inside now as duals. I got the 130lb from inet tractor ballast websites. It's got more hp than factory but I don't want to tie it down tight so will use factory #'s for weighting purposes. Only pull 26ft cultivator and 9 shank Soil Saver. |

| Sooo....I went to the elevator today and it weighs 19000 lb with frt axle at 4420. No frt weights which I have 14 of in shed. It is closer to recommendations than I thought. Maybe 2 more of those 400# inner rears would be about right and stick a few of the suitcase weights on? |

You have to remove center from axle and bolt weight to inside. |

| Guys I dont know how much those dang inner weights weigh, I know they are a royal pain in the seat when the nuts come off and they drop down and break off the valve stem that was on the inside of the rim. I was by myself, got blocking and jack under the weight and was able to get it bolted back in place. Then put a new tube in the tire and refilled it with fluid. I was a sticky mess before I got that dang tire fixed. Guys it was on a JD tractor. |
